Japanese interview with Charith

I have finally got the first interview with Charith ready. It is late because I decided to create subtitles for the video. I can only do so much typing at once. And then there was that day that I lost 2 hours of work on the subtitles.

This interview is in Japanese. I have made Japanese subtitles and also English subtitles. You may have to turn them on and you may have to select the one you want to appear. That control is in the lower right corner of the video player. If it's not available on the embeded player in this post, then go to youtube to watch it: The Video link.

There will be two more videos to come. I have to make subtitle files for them before I post them. I don't know why, though. I just feel like providing them.

About Charith: He came to Japan 6 months before I arrived. He went to a Japanese language school for 18 months and then to a technical college to study computers. Those classes were, of course, conducted in Japanese.

  1. Wow...amazing. It's hard to believe that he's a non-native Japanese speaker. His high proficiency however encouraged me to keep learning.Your efforts will never let you down. Thank you for posting it!

  2. Thanks! I've been waiting for this. Cool interview. Can't wait for the next two parts. Does he talk about Sri Lanka more?

  3. There was no more talk about Sri Lanka. But I will go to the Sri Lanka festival again this year. I will make some videos from it and then I can interview more people and ask them to tell me about Sri Lanka.

  4. @Keith: Sounds cool. I'll look out for that. When is the Sri Lanka festival?

  5. Cool. I don't really know any Japanese so I don't have anything to judge it against, but the fact that he delved into the language by traveling to Japan and after taking 18 months of language classes took COLLEGE classes. That's pretty cool and has to be the best way you can learn a language.

  6. We still don't know when the Sri Lanka festival will be. I think it has not been announced yet. I will let you know as soon as I find out.
